What are the various decorations on people's entries? Like "Volunteer tester" and whatever else people have? Yes, this is temporary as far as I'm concerned. Everyone else knows. I don't though. |

You forgot the green star. It means you have donated money to SETI project. |

You forgot the green star. It means you have donated money to SETI project. ... in the last year. HOWEVER: absence of a green star does not mean the user hasn't donated. You can choose to hide the fact that you've donated. (In my case, though, it does mean I haven't lately.) (Update: that has now been remedied.) (In my case, though, it does mean I haven't lately.) You can give less, just not directly through the donations page. Flatr and Goodsearch give micro amounts, both on the project front page. |

(In my case, though, it does mean I haven't lately.) I didn't even read that into it (although I didn't try to donate less and may have missed it). The only thing I saw was that you have to have donated $10 within the last year to have a star. I read that as, you can donate $1/month and keep your star as long as you do. Or even 84c/month. Their credit card processing system might barf on that, though. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

(In my case, though, it does mean I haven't lately.) The automated system for the green star uses the credit card processing and that indeed has a bottom limit of $10/per donation. There are/were other methods of giving where the green star was added by hand and I don't know if $10 was a minimum via those methods or not. However I was pointing out that you can donate less than $10 at a time, if you don't have that much or don't have access to a credit card that is accepted by UC Berkeley. Also if you are a US resident the donation is tax deductible, and may be deductible in some other countries, check with your tax man. |

My star should re-ignite:

Click on anyone's green star and you'll be taken to a place where you can donate. ~Sue~ |
