After reset the file "AstroPulse_ATi_config_7.09_windows_intelx86.xml" was downloaded. BOINC doesn't recognize / load. Something new headed our way?... Keifer |

App_config.xml (per thread title) is an optional component of BOINC, which uses a uniform syntax across any BOINC project you care to use it with. It's defined in Application configuration. I don't know of any project where the server supplies an app_config.xml for download (although in principle they could) - in general, you have to create the file yourself, though most people do it by copying someone else's. AstroPulse_ATi_config_7.09_windows_intelx86.xml is an application-specific file, providing a way (yet another way) of configuring just that single application. It could be used in conjunction with app_config.xml, but doesn't replace it. You will probably have received a similarly-named ReadMe file in the same download, explaining how to use it. |

Thanks Richard... I can do with the app_config settings. It's just that I've never noticed this file until today. The override command line options referenced in the associated ReadMe.txt are bit to advanced for my pea sized brain. Wish I could find an "how to" reference for entry level folks like me. I've been using some of the simpler overrides in my ap_cmdline.txt... -oclFFT_plan 256 16 256 -tune 1 64 4 1 -cpu_lock -unroll 16 -ffa_block 2560 -ffa_block_fetch 1280 These have worked well for my rig thus far... Again thanks for your input Keifer |
