Today I tried using the android app. I don't know why but I was not able to connect to my account. Do I have to create a separate account or is there something else I did miss? Would be nice if someone could help me out. Om mani padme hum. |

Ich nutze die Standard-BOINC-App. Reicht es, wenn ich die xml lösche oder muss ich sie verändern? Wenn ja, was muss geändert werden? Om mani padme hum. |

Vielleicht hast du Glück und mußt einfach am Projekt ein UPDATE durchführen, damit meine ich nur ein Verbindungsupdate, keine APP uppen. |

I've just added Seti without trouble to my smartphone's BOINC. So, when you try to add your account, what are you filling in? You need the email address of the account you registered with here, the user name and the password of the account. You can check the box to show the password, in case you feel you typed things wrong. If none of that works, try to set a new password on Your Account, before trying again. Maybe that you aren't remembering your password so well. One thing, the Android app requires that you use the default venue/location, so you cannot set it up to use Home/Work/School. If you have set your PC to use the default (---) location and specifically set it to run only certain kinds of work, but you want the Android app to do all kinds of work, you'll have to switch the PC to a different location, then set up the default location for the Android app. The Android app can only run on the CPU, there is no GPU work available for them. You cannot reach the BOINC data directory without having rooted the device. And even then it's quite difficult to change anything in there. |

Erstaunlich dabei ist, die hab ich gar nicht konfiguriert, die ist mit runtergeladen worden. 8( Uhm, no. While BOINC 7.6.22 on the PC can make a cc_config.xml file when you add an exclusive application through BOINC Manager, or you add one of the debug flags through the Event Log Options window, it cannot make an anonymous platform file app_info.xml or an application configuration file app_config.xml, nor can either of these be downloaded from the project. Both of these files are made manually, by the user of that BOINC. They can be downloaded, but then usually from a third party website, such as Lunatics. They do not come with BOINC, they do not come with any project. So, you will have made it yourself and if it doesn't work, that's most probably because you didn't follow the instructions. Always make files like this in a simple text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++, and save them in ANSI format, not in UTF-8 or Unicode. When copying the file through a browser, make sure the browser doesn't add characters to the front and back of the text. Internet Explorer for instance will add hyphen '-' characters, which have to be removed for the file to work correctly. And as always, when in doubt, post it on the forums. Plenty of people here who can help you, if at least you want to be helped. |

Nice, let me ask u one thing. When i got the device rooted, where are the heck do i find this "app_config.xml" file ? BOINC for Android will put it in data\data\edu.berkeley.boinc\projects\edu.berkeley.setiathome\ which is a hidden directory in the device's memory, thus not on the SD card . In NativeBOINC you have the option to save everything to the SD card. NativeBOINC is a third party application and is not developed by Berkeley. |

After all, the answer was quite simple: I used the wrong user name *facepalm* Once this issue was fixed, everything works fine here. Thanks for the support, I'll keep your advice in mind for problems on other devices. Om mani padme hum. |
