7925270 is a smartphone I had, and... dropped after a month, cracking the screen. Now, after working around not being able to see what I'm doing half the time, it's going to be used to see how high the RAC can go if all it's doing is Main and Beta work. [Mostly it just has BOINC and Google Play running; everything else that could be (safely) uninstalled/disabled was, to free up CPU cycles.] |

I have one like that too: 7518526. Its SIM slot failed making it useless as a phone, so I bought it from my missus as it can still connect to WiFi. I put it behind the bedroom TV and forgot about it. I eventually found that it had fallen behind the dresser and been crushed, probably when the dresser was moved. But I dusted it off and got it working again, and found it took a licking and keeps on ticking; I'm amazed that the touchscreen still works under all the crackle. I hope if I ever discover anything that it's this device that does it... there's a lesson in there about not wasting or overlooking potential. Here it is crunching away as of a couple minutes ago: |

I don't have a picture of mine, but 'picture' that where yours has an impact shattetpoint on the left side of the second (45.8% complete) task, I have one on center-right. And the entire screen below that point (and to the right) only shows white. Other than that it works fine, of course. ;-) EDIT: Uploaded a pic: |

Mine looks pretty similar to Mr. Kevvy's. I had it in my back pocket when I fell off my chair. Kept using it for maybe another month before I got a new one. So far I've uninstalled Facebook and Twitter (not that I ever use Twitter anyway). I should probably delete all its email accounts too. And I should see if its charger will keep up if I have it crunch on 3 cores at a time, better yet 4. A couple months ago, the new one stopped taking a charge and I had to call Verizon and have them switch me back to the old one for a bit. But then it started working again, so I switched back. Odd thing with the new one: the screen has come unglued from the case along the left side and bottom. I really should get something done about it before it gets water in it. And I should see if its charger will keep up if I have it crunch on 3 cores at a time, better yet 4. Mime is new enough that I don't have to worry about KEEPING a charge; but I have noticed (and this is on 7615058, which sees more use) that sometimes when plugged in I get a "Power Useage greater than charge(r) level" when running Enigma. |

And I should see if its charger will keep up if I have it crunch on 3 cores at a time, better yet 4. Does that happen if you are charging from a standard PC USB port or when using the supplied charger? Newer mobile devices can negotiate with USB ports/chargers to be supplied with up to 2A@5v (10W). If no negotiate happens only 500mA@5v (2.5W) may be provided by the port/charger. There is also a USB specification that allows charging devices to to run 1.5A@12v(18w), 3A@12v(36w), 5A@12v(60w), 3A@20v(60w), 5A@20v(100w). However I believe those specs only apply to USB 3.1 devices with USB C connectors. The battery monitor app I use on my Galaxy S4 displays Charging (AC) when it has negotiated for more than 500mA. Otherwise is displays Charging (USB). I found running 4 tasks at a time with only a 500mA port/charger will not keep the battery topped up. I want to say it would take 4-5 hours to get down to 20% where I had BOINC set to stop crunching. Does that happen if you are charging from a standard PC USB port or when using the supplied charger? The standard (provided) charger. The only USB port I currently have is the one built into my TV. I HAVE used it a couple of times, but not enough to provide any specifics. The battery monitor app I use on my Galaxy S4 displays Charging (AC) when it has negotiated for more than 500mA. Otherwise is displays Charging (USB). The built-in monitor on my ZTE Zinger does show both (AC) and (USB). [Just checked for the USB while typing this- battery was getting low anyway.] I found running 4 tasks at a time with only a 500mA port/charger will not keep the battery topped up. I want to say it would take 4-5 hours to get down to 20% where I had BOINC set to stop crunching. Mine can only do two at a time; it takes about 2.5 to get down to 15% charge and currently don't have a charge limiter since I'm usually near a plug by the time it gets that far. |

Update: From what I can tell (through the screen), it seems to have settled on 1 Main/1 Beta task running concurrently. (This is a two CPU system.) We'll see in two weeks or so what the RAC is... |

Mine is now crunching along merrily on all 4 cores. The only reason I ever limited it (and my new one) to 2 cores is because it ran other apps sluggishly on more. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |
