I looked through SEVERAL posts and couldn't find the exact information I was looking for. I had to format and reinstall. I copied the BOINC Task folder before doing so. Afterwards I reinstalled SETI/BOINC and then I copied the old BOINC folder over the new folder so that all of the tasks I had were not lost. What do I need to do to get these tasks running again? I copied the BOINC Task folder Which directory did you copy exactly? For this you have to have the entire BOINC Data directory and not only SETI@home directory (<BOINC_Data>\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\) 1) You put the old BOINC Data directory somewhere on the new HDD (in writeable place - e.g. do Not put in Program Files) 2) You install BOINC and during installation point it (choose) the copied BOINC Data directory  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

I copied the BOINC folder from c:\programdata to another drive before format. Then I copied the same folder back over the new folder after I reinstalled BOINC. I disabled Allow New Tasks so that new data wouldn't copy. I reject your reality and substitute my own boincstats.com |

What you do first though is copy the directory to its place, then install BOINC. This is done so that the BOINC you have on that system is allowed to read from and write to that directory, which it may not have when you first install BOINC and then copy the directory over. So, to fix that, you uninstall BOINC through Windows Add/Remove Programs and reinstall it with its installer. |
