Hmmmmmm....noticed the last few days my Boincstats sig was broken.
Something changed over there, had to edit my sig to update the link. They seem to have changed it from a jpg to a png......

Tigger's had her first round of meds today. Steroids and Fluconazole.
She doesn't like the steroids much, it's in a cherry flavored couch syrup kinda base.....icky for kitties I am sure. And the Fluconazole is twice a day instead of once a day so I have to accost her with it an extra time. But she is being a trouper about it so far.

And today I have to try to trim her back toenails.
The swelling on the side of her head causes her to scratch at it, and she is nicking her ear up just a bit in the process.
Not sure how she is going to cooperate with that little operation....

Meow for now.

Best wishes for Tigger.

If you have trouble with trimming her nails think about bandaging her feet instead.

I have used (and keep in stock) Vetrap made by 3M, a flexible bandage that sticks to itself (but not to hair or skin) and is easy to remove. Must admit I have not used it on cats but it works well on my dogs. Give your vet a ring, they probably hold it or similar in stock at a reasonable price.

Thank you very much for the suggestion! I would not have thought of that.

I was able to get Tigger to cooperate enough to get the sharp tips snipped off of her nails.

Its also a handy way to prevent constant licking of a wound (a dog thing) without having to use a buster collar.

Rumor is.............
This new TT flick was shot totally on 70mm film..........no digitals.

I seem to recall some bit about him dusting off certain camera lenses that were originally used for Panavision not used in 50 years to retrofit the cameras to do this...............

I need to see it.

The Hateful 8.

Nobody said this job's s'possed to be hard.
Nobody said it's s'possed to be that hard, either.

Last thing I am gonna say here for a while.
I just woke up from a deep slumber and had a couple of dreams./
Dreams that meant much to me, but not much to you, so I won't even attempt to recount them.

In the meanwhile, the simple fact that I woke up to have my Tigger kitty lying next to me still alive meant more to me than it seems my life has.

My life, it seems, has been much more troubled than lately at best, and yet. When I look at it overall, much blessed than most.

And so there I leave it, in God's hands. He has led me to a life more wonderful than most are privileged to have had.
And no matter where he takes me or those I love from here on out, I must accept it as His will and blessing. That includes whatever he intends for my dear Tigger as well as myself.

I appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers offered from you for my Tigger.
I think they are working, insomuch as she is still alive an fighting, thank you so very much.

Me, I am weak, but by her side as always. And my dream has awakened me to the friendships I have encountered here.

You have made this so, my friends. You have made this so.

Amen, and God bless you all, and Tigger.

Meow for now,
Kitty kisses,

Mark

BTW....
If you have any companion animals that are failing.....
Here is a site that offers meds and hope...........
Many meds for our various companion animals...

Cannot say that Tigger's meds are working, but she is perky, so they sure are not hurting her any........
Tigger says hi, and her herbal meds offer some hope at least.

I am just telling you this because I have come to care about you.
There is something you should know, because although I have tried to tell you about this for years now, you have not seemed to listen./

I was born upon this earth is seems for one reason., and this is to warn you, to advise you. For what is to become of our world.

It is going to pass, I am afraid, and perhaps towards the end of my lifetime with you. And there is nothing you can do about it.

Preordained...if you believe about such things. And still unavoidable if you do not.

I have left a lot of things behind on this life, because I believe in Seti at Home.
I have given up nice homes, nice cars, a lot of things....for that belief.

Thousands of dollars, years of my life. I have given to this project.

And I will tell you now what the result is.

We do not know, but the search must continue.
For life as we know it, does exist beyond our known universe.
What lies beyond, I, nor you. know.

I know this..
Hope you listen.

Maybe you shall listen, this time.

What is important to me at this point in time, is that I have have my say, and I can lay a few things to rest at this time..
Because I still love her.
For forty or so years now.

For but a woman such as Lori go I........

Ahh, such a wretched life live I.
But for the love a a fine lady......

Such are the songs and stories of Gilbet and Sullivan.
And my life as well...

I am most perplexed and personified.

Because, you see, I am The very model of a modern Kitty General.
Yes, I am at times most modern of sorts
and present to you at times my worst of worts.
But in principle, and taken at best when I get at
there are more things I know than most of men can make of it........

I present to you that I, indeed sometimes an idiot,\
can be the most appropriate of saviots.

When sometimes I do post, not quite sure of where I'm at
and then I have to take it back, just then
to cover up my quite poor sorry back.....
And yet at times I'm quite so sure of that..............
I am the modern kitty of a recent proflieriant..................

No, there is no such word, but they took liberties to make rhymes as well...............LOL./1

Gilbert and Sullivan not only wrote these things for their own aggredizement and pennies paid at the time, but to give a chance for some of the finest voices of their time to have a new chance.

They were aware and generally supportive of their surrounding artists.

Best recording of a Gilbert and Sullivan patter song.
His reading is a bit slow.........they are called patter songs.
These are usually done double time to so the artist's expertise.

This is noteworthy however for his enunciation.

And to teach a few of you the lyrics.

A little list...I have one as well.

Well....
A not so happy Tigger update.
Tigger is not improving.

Whatever is attacking her is not responding to her meds, and the vet is now saying she sadly thinks it is cancer.
Tigger is still active, still eating and drinking properly.
But, when she meows for her mushy food treats, her meow is rather raspy. And she has a few coughing fits here and there, caused no doubt by the very swollen lymph node in her throat. She does not yet seem to have trouble when eating.

I have an appointment for Tigger with the vet on Monday. But I am going to call tomorrow and discuss it further. I may ask her to refer Tigger to the Animal Referral Center for a final diagnosis.

They are very specialized and rather expensive, and I really cannot afford it.

But then again, how can I afford not to? She is like a child to me, and has been a loving companion for 14-1/2 years. And then, I have to ask myself, am I trying to defy reality? I am very torn. But, if there is any possibility in the world that there is something I can do to save her, I have to know. And if not, as I fear, I guess then I have to steel myself for the inevitable.

When I lost my dear Squirrel over 2 years ago, it was very painful. But she had lived for over 18-1/2 years, and as much as it hurt me, I eventually realized that it was her time to travel on. I am not as sure that Tigger's time with me should be over just yet.

Every night when I go to bed, she immediately climbs up on my chest for her special pettings....during which, I am also feeling the swollen lymph nodes in her neck, on the side of her head, in her front armpits, and behind her back legs. All the while hoping beyond hope than one day I shall feel something going down instead of getting worse. But nothing good so far.

She lays down very contented and takes her right paw and lays it aside of my neck and actually pets me back....she does SO love me. And I, her.
Hard to type this through the tears, and she is sitting right next to me, having had her mushy food treat with herbal medicine for the night. And her dose of anti-fungal meds, which do not appear to be the answer.

I am hoping for the best, but am realizing that there may be nothing more I can do for her. And as I hold her close, that is a very helpless feeling. And I am not a man that often feels helpless. I have been through a lot in my life and conquered many foes. Both from within and without. At the moment, this one seems unbeatable, and I am not used to that.

At the very least, she is still a very happy kitty.
The kittyman, not so much.
Sorry for the somewhat long post, but I am having a very hard time of this....at the moment, harder than Tigger is.

Lori is being as supportive as she is able to. Having lost her dear Maine Coon kitty Oscar to cancer years ago, she understands completely what I am facing. You remember Oscar? Yes, that server was named after Oscar.

Dunno what else to say at the moment, except............

Meow for now.

Meowsigh.

10 hours.
50 reads.
And not one of you has anything to say about my impending loss of Tigger.

Nice. I had expected better from my Seti 'friends'.
Apparently, they are not.

I know now who my friends are and are not.
And it appears, ain't one of them HERE.

Later, babies.

Much later.
