Hello! Since my powerful PCI-E GPU is dead , I decided to switch to the embedded Radeon HD 3000 of the motherboard. I installed the drivers from its CD and everything went fine . Games and 3D screensavers work OK. But when it comes to BOINC , I decided to install the Lunatics binaries for ATI but went unsuccesful , This is the log output. Any advice to fix it ? Thanks. |

Any advice to fix it ? Thanks. Get another GPU, HD46**, preferably HD5*** or better GPUs required for OpenCL support, HD3*** and earlier GPUs don't support OpenCL. Claggy |

Any advice to fix it ? Thanks. hehehehehehe very Funny Claggy but you probably didn't mean it the way it sounded or at least the first 3 words hehehehehe cracked me up Unless you have Intel GPU , on board graphics is a no brainer and even if there is a better version then the one you have it's no good for Seti even Intel really is garbage . I don't use ATI but Claggy knows what he's talking about Your stuck with CPU only till you get a new GPU |

ehehe very Funny Claggy but you probably didn't mean it the way it sounded or at least the first 3 words hehehehehe cracked me up So maybe worth to get knowledge before making statements? ATi embedded GPU outperforms Intel's ones. One need much closer to top iGPU to be on par with quite moderate ATi's embedded one. Regarding this particular HD3000 one - HDxxxx don't directly map onto GPU architecture so worth to double-check with ATi site or GPU-Z if no OpenCL support presents. Must most probably it doesn't have OpenCL support indeed as Claggy said. If OP has inclination to test different configs he could install AstroPulse hybrid app that will use GPU via CAL interface. Will this speedup overall host production depends on properly configuration. And before posting about "crappy embedded GPUs" consider that embedded GPU share memory with CPU hence no bus overhead on data transfers included. And those transfers in bandwidth-bound app (AP is memory bandwidth bound one mostly) make hybrid solutions non-effective for low-end discrete GPUs. Regarding ATi GPUs vs CPUs - in my C-60 GPU part easely outperforms both CPU cores together on AP tasks. Best config I found so far for it is to reduce APU voltage and CPU freq to minimum. That allows firmware to rise GPU freq of APU to max for long periods. Overall APU performance increased. |
