Ok I found out how much Barstow Station Cinema charges:

Matinee $6.00(before 5pm I think)
Adult $8.00
Child/Military $6.00

Beat that.

The price looks good Vic. How about popcorn or soda?

I'm in no hurry to see the film.

That probably costs more, only prices for the movies were on the phone, so I don't know, right now It's not important enough for Me. I will see the movie, either on TWC's on demand or on a DVD or in the theater later on in 2016(Sep or Oct most likely).

@Angela.
Ya. I went. The theater was showing it all day long. So no lines or packed seats. I chose the 10:45pm show. I got the 3D ticket, large bucket of popcorn and large drink. I got kicked in the change purse. I didn't check but I think it left a blood trail behind me ($30 USD).
Now "The Force" was good. But not that good. But good. Now we have to wait for the next movie.

Admiral!!!! :-O

Next time, go to your local COSTCO and buy the Movie Passes that they sell for your local theater. For me the passes are Regal Movie Passes; however, based upon location, yours may be AMC, or Century/Cinemark... No matter which ones they are, you will get a BIG discount over the Theater's price.

What usually happens is, you present your discounted pass - ($10 Value for my Regal Pass), and if you are seeing IMAX and 3D, the Theater will charge you $6.50 more... That's a total of $16.50 for Regal IMAX 3D, instead of the $30 that you spent!!! :-) These passes are good EVEN if/when a Theater says NO PASSES!!!

My friend and I did this a couple weeks ago to get our tickets for Star Wars on the 19th at 11:20 IMAX 3D showing at the Dublin, Regal IMAX Theater. So, in future, get your Discount Passes!!! :-)

TL

Of course, you have to be a member of Costco. I dropped it after one year because I didn't think I got my money's worth in discounted shopping.

Get the higher level of memberships. The Executive Business Membership cost $110 but they give you 2% rewards on what you spend. If you don't exceed $110 in rewards, they refund the diffrence to you. One year I make no purchases. They refunded the whole $110. If I had paid for the regular membership, I would have lost the $55.

Pretty good since it cost twice that to make.

In a week the movie should be deeply in the blackness of space, though not in a galaxy, far, far away...

I hope my Disney stock rebounds. It's been in a slump lately.

Rather disappointed in the new movie. I don't think JJ Abrams knows what he's doing with this franchise.

We were going to wait until after the holidays, but the hype is making me want to see it sooner.

Did Lucas, either, really?
We know he paid homage to various film traditions as well as paid attention to history. But, I think he cobbled together way too many things to make the 6 episodes a good story. Only the last 1/2 of Episode III saved anything for me.

That said, Abrams' attempt could have been worse ... a lot worse. So, I may see VIII.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Box Office: Domestic & International

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Crushes Records, Topping Largest Box Office Weekend of All Time

December 20, 2015

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stormed the box office and walked away with an estimated $238 million in its first three days domestically (including $57 million in Thursday night "previews") along with another $279 million internationally for a massive $517 million worldwide opening. Suffice to say, this shatters the domestic box office opening weekend record of $208.8 million set by Jurassic World earlier this year, but the record-breaking doesn't end there.

I went and saw it yesterday. I don't think it will spoil anything for anyone if I point out that one prominent feature of the first six films is missing: the 20th Century Fox fanfare at the beginning.

Being that I like 1-6, with the worst in the series being 1, I think Lucas knew what he was doing and did it quite well.

IMHO, it was worse.... a lot worse. I'd dive into details but out of respect for those that dislike any spoilers, I won't go into it.
