Are you the only person in England who doesn't know about Lupin?

As I haven't asked everyone in England, David, I can't see how you can possibly expect me to say... and anyway, I much prefer Snape :)

As for how you expect me to make WEREWOLF out of this... *slide disparaging gaze down nose* ...this junk *point at junk* -> ACEHLNOPRTY

I don't know either. Even trying to make canis lupis only gives me canr lopehty

Will that do you?

:)

No, not at all, since it has 0 letters correct. However, you are barking up the right tree.

Since this word has been sitting for a while. And tonight is Halloween and all the little ghosts and goblins come out to play.
Professor Remus John Lupin, O.M. (First Class), (10 March, 1960 – 2 May, 1998), also known as Moony, was a half-blood wizard and the only son of Lyall and Hope Lupin (née Howel). He was afflicted with lycanthropy during his childhood, as Fenrir Greyback's revenge against Lyall.

I am in a dither as to whether to give it to you or insist that you have one letter wrong. I'll have to sleep on it.

I don't know how I got that (especially so late at night). I just looked at it and the answer popped into my head.

Anyway...

AEFIILMNORSSSTUU

Already has two correct.

Goodness - that last word went quickly. You will be pleased to know - I would never have got it.

SALINIFEROUS SMUT

Oh yes... good one! I like it very much :)

HOWEVER...

LuminiferoustAss - originally, a species of mystically glowing olive grove donkeys that unfortunately, drove themselves to extinction by spooking one another each time they met, to the point where they were too busy running away to mate. Awwwwww :( but since coined to describe a shining example of a pure idiot

SemilustrousFain - (archaic) half-heartedly willing

MirliFatuousness - (not to be confused with AmirliFatuousness) a seasonal spirit of silliness that strikes during the height of the silkworm breeding championships in Azerbaijan.

InfusiSomersault - a gymnastic manouevre performed whilst drinking coffee

TrainFumiousless - legal term similar to a plea of diminished responsibility, but with more specific application to rage-afflicted platform-stranded would-be passengers who - on encountering no trains on which to step inside of - get a tad ratty and start rolling railway staff along the tracks instead.

Multifariousness - oh... that looks suspiciously like one of those already used words that clutter up so much of the dictionary, that there's no room for all my other words *insulted blink* and meaning something to do with comprising many parts or some such nonsense...

You're right, she did. (Meanwhile, Chris and I are getting almost nowhere with her current one at Einstein.)

BemnoChipolata

NimbleHAPOTaco
Chopboatmenial
Catniphemiobol
PHANCATOMOBILE

You see that lot up ^^ there ^^ ... and I mean the whole lot...

Not a single letter in the right place.

So well done there.

vv These vv range between having one correct letter and three.

Motionablechap
Poeticalbonham
Botanophilecam
CompatibleNoah

All four have the same correct letter. The one that starts with the correct letter, has two, and the other one that has two, are both vowels.

Oh... and did I say I LOVE botanophilecams? Well I do. A lot :)

edit: I should probably also say that this word is rarely seen without at least one accompanying word - but as they're not hyphenated or anything, I left them out :)

Working off the assumption that the original jumble has no letters correct...

1 - M
2 - O
3 - might be E
4 - might be A (or T)
5 - might be A (or N)
6 - (or T)
7 - might be I (or P)
8 - (L or H)
9 - might be I (or B)
10- (L)
11- might be E
12- might be O (or C)
13- nothing so far
14- (H)

I was working mainly on the clues about the vowels, so the possible consonants are in parentheses to indicate that little thought has gone into them.

I keep thinking there's another bit of logic that is just escaping my grasp. I should start this over on another piece of paper.
