I see 35 pending validations and two inconclusive validations on my list of 79 tasks for the period from 20 August to date. the most recent ones from the last few days may be normal backlog, but what about the results between 20 August and 25 September? Those should have plenty time to resolve by now... Is this expected, since there was a fire in the datacenter recently? http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=267133&offset=0&show_names=0&state=2&appid= http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=267133&offset=0&show_names=0&state=3&appid= Regards, Lars |

The deadline for those tasks is oct 10 to nov 2. Your wingmen simply haven`t reported yet. Not everybody is crunching every day. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Thanks for your quick answer. I'll just wait for the credits to come in later, then... :-) |

To help you a bit in the future - here's a rugh guide on interpreting your results summary: All (79) - this one is pretty self explanatory, it is the sum of the following six numbers. · In progress (0) - This is the number of tasks that are sitting on your computer, either actually being processed or waiting to be processed. · Validation pending (34) - This is the number of tasks waiting to be validated. A task may be here for a few seconds or several weeks depending on when the other person returns their copy of the task (and any subsequent re-send due to late/no return or them returning an error) · Validation inconclusive (2) - The results for the two copies didn't agree so they get sent off to a third person to see which of you is right. · Valid (43) - You've been credited for these - tasks only stay on this list for 24 hours before they archived out of sight. · Invalid (0) - You get these if the third person above cast cat in favour of the other person. Don't be worried if you get one every few weeks, be concerned if you start to see new ones every day, which can be indicative of a problem with our computer. · Error (0) - Something went wrong with your calculation - there are several types of error oaf varying severity. watch out for multiple "Error while computing" type errors as they can be indicative of problems with your computer. As Mike said, you have nothing to worry about, just keep crunching and you will be OK. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

My only question for your computer is why is it showing 0 for In Progress? Have you stopped getting new work on purpose or is there something wrong. Check the log to see what it is telling you about work requests. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

Looking at this Work Unit from 8 September , click on the computer link for your wingmate. It looks like he joined the project on 5 September, and last hit the servers on 8 September, the day you both got that WU. Probably gone and not coming back, so his Task will time out and be resent. That one will take awhile to complete and validate, but eventually it will. This project is NOT for those seeking instant gratification. Patience is not just a virtue, it is a requirement...
