Why does recent av credit go up and down so much? Some days I have 450-480 or so recent credits and some days it goes as low as 290-300.Why does it change so much?Just recently it has only been around 280-300 mark. Then I will get a week or two when it goes upto 450 again.I am crunching the same number of wu's per day and every day.So does the changing recent credit means things are not done very fair as I would of thought the av credit would stay the same all the time? A lot of it can depend on how the Validator is working, if the Validator is slow in Validating your RAC will drop & then when the Validator catches up your RAC will jump back up again. The higher your RAC the more volatile your RAC will be, mine can jump or drop a couple hundred points a day even though like you I run about the same amount of WU's every day ... It's also dependent on how fast the people that have the same WU turn in their results, if they are slow in turning them in then your RAC will drop, if they are fast in turning them in then your RAC will rise ... |

To add a tiny note to poorboy's excellent description... Average credit score will allways change over time even if your systems don't add new WUs. It is designed to 'decay' over time down to zero, and only fresh credit being added props it up. |

Last week my stats were going backwards the more I turned in the lower my RAC went. This week I have been lucky that the other 3 crunchers for validating purposes turned in there wu on time. I think seti is ready for a big move with the hardware they have at hand and seti/classic may soon end. Just my guess. |

> Hello Rachel poorboy is correct if the validators are running and not > backlogged your credits will be cosistent.. > If the validators are running and not backlogged, won't the credit granted all depend on other hosts? You won't get credit for a result until theres a quorum, which is three matching results. So while you might be completing, uploading and reporting WU's regularly, credit for them will come in randomly as the others upload and report their results also. EDIT: Which is what PoorBoy said, I just went by the latter replies. |

I have a computer that has been off line for Boinc for a few months now and the credit is steady at 21.14. It is an older Win98 machine and I took it off line when they were having problems with 98 and Boinc. Long since solved, but it is crunching for Classic for now, so I have not switched it back. |

That is probably the reason, but that has been since July! |

The decay rate is just fine, but the calculation is apparently never done if there is no credit requested. Just wait until that pending result is actually credited (if ever), and the RAC should drop dramatically. BOINC WIKI |

I just checked and it still has one unit "pending" credit granting. That is probably the reason, but that has been since July! ========== I have several Computers that still have results dating back to July. These computers have been upgraded & I can neither merge nor delete them. One is showing 1 Result the other 2 results which keep me from deleting either one of them ... :( |
