Hey there, does somebody know, when we will get "new" data of the Breakthrough Listen Initiative ? regards |

You should ask dr.Andrew Siemion, who testified in the House Science & Technology Committee in Washington. But he did not say a soingle word about SETI@home. tULLIO |

Interresting. Sounds like this project doesn't have anything to do with s@h. And if it really is, as the guy said, the best and most comprehensive project yet, then I wouldn't be surprised if s@h just gets stopped some day sooner or later. More and more do I get the feeling lately, that nobody really believes and cares much about s@h anymore. |

I still run the software and still think there is a reasonable chance ETI will be found by the project, but after nearly 15 years I'm not as optimistic as I once was. I'm convinced they are out there but I'm not so sure they want to communicate with us savage humans. Chris, who exactly do you speak for? And thx for the wishes, but I will not leave yet. And I do already crunch for some other projects also. |

I'm convinced they are out there but I'm not so sure they want to communicate with us savage humans. Yes, exactly my thoughts. I'm sure they are out there and I'm sure that we have been discovered, but they see no reason to make contact. And I can absolutly understand that. |

After all these Years...I feel much like Bob and Chris. It is a very worthwhile project. However it could take Many years. I wish you well on this and other projects. ;o) I Desire Peace and Justice, Jim Scott (Mod-Ret.) |

I'm convinced they are out there but I'm not so sure they want to communicate with us savage humans. We can change that, if we are willing to change ourselves. rOZZ Music Pictures |

CPUs are on WCG 2 give some chance of developing sthg of value 2 humans! GPUs are here on SETi@home...got 2 keep them busy! ;) non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

Since there are no habitable planets out to 20 light years then "They" do not know that we exist by eavesdropping on our transmissions. Since we are not broadcasting high powered focused beams out into the Cosmos on a regular basis, no one could possibly know that we are here----- let alone have knowledge of all of our sins and bad behavior. "They" won't come and visit even if they knew we were here since we would be too far away. When we find a true Earth out there then we should have this conversation once again. |

when r u going to stop saying those "non-sense" about no planet around 20ly within Habitable zone? In short: when they find one. Note: I wrote HABITABLE and I mean habitable by you and me. A planet that is suitable for living that has all of the dozen or more requirements for life to form, evolve and sustain itself. Can you tell me which ones are habitable within this distance? |

I'm convinced they are out there but I'm not so sure they want to communicate with us savage humans. Yes, but I don't see that yet. The change may come, but it won't happen anytime soon. "They" may be so far ahead of us in term of technics that they have ways to find us which we can't even imagine right now. Chris, who exactly do you speak for? Well, so you and your misterious friends are happy with the way the project is run? With the lack of resources and money? I may be wrong, as I said that's just my impression, but I see Berkeley getting a lot of money and Seti always in need of money. |

It takes a lot more than being in the correct temperature zone to comprise a world suitable for habitation. You can probably think of a dozen other requirements and parameter ranges that also must be in evidence. |

when r u going to stop saying those "non-sense" about no planet around 20ly within Habitable zone? u can go there & list them by distance...then check the parameters & C this ones: - Gliese 832 c - Gliese 581 g ;) non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

Hey, i received an answer of Mr. Siemion, and i am allowed to post that here: Hi Thomas, Hopefully you’ll start getting some data from the GBT telescope soon! SETI@Home engineers are working hard on that! Best, Andrew |

Hey, Thank you for getting back to us, Thomas. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Apart from pain. And maybe humiliation. And obviously death. And failure. But apart from fear, pain and humiliation, failure and the unknown and death - we have nothing to fear. Who’s with me? |
