my father had some paper currency handed down to him and I'm having trouble figuring out where it came from. I've seen several german speaking threads and just had a thought that maybe someone here could help.

It is my best guess that these three pieces where probably currency notes printed by some local authority during the German depression after WW1. Here's the words I find on each of the three.

I'm just hoping some can say they recognize some of the words, especially the city names, or region names. Like is Saale a city name??? or is Saalfeld a city name?

I'm not sure where my grand dad got these notes.

I know my family first emmigrated from Mosbach germany in 1852. I'm curious about my heritage.

First of all Pfg means Pfennig, the old german penny. The date implies that it could mean Reichspfennig, 100 Reichspfennig = 1 Reichsmark.

1)
"Saalfeld a. Saale"
Saalfeld is a town, Saale a river.
Looks like a simple 75 Pfennig credit.

2)
"I/M" - in Mecklenburg
"Konto" - account
Malchow is a town in Mecklenburg, north-east germany, near Rostock.

By the way:
It is written in old-german and that can be confusing :-)
If you have the paper in front of you, you should notice a difference in the f character in Saalfeld and in Auguft (--> the f in the latter one is actually a s").

Oh yeah, the "50" is follow by a small "&". It doesn't state Mark, Pfennig, etc. Actually the fifty is over the "&", or maybe the "&" is between the very bottom and between the 5 and 0.
