well thats something i would not do to a mainboard ... if you need to freeze components there is special cans of chemicals you can use to do so and they do not leave moisture .... we used em frequently on tube tv's to find faults
I came down with a bad case of i don't give a crap

My System is running again.

Can`t tell for sure what it was.
Maybe the Monitor.

Now i have the problem that Boinc can`t detect my GPU.
Do i need to reinstall Boinc ?

I am delighted it is running again, but since you aren't certain what the cause was, that is not good. The problem may still be there, but temporarily masked. I am not sure why BOINC wouldn't see your GPU, but I'm glad things are at least working.

If I recall correctly from other posts I have seen .... Your new card needs newer drivers than your old one did. Try a newer driver.

No, it won't help. Whenever BOINC states it cannot find a GPU, check drivers.

Did you fully uninstall the drivers before installing the new ones?

In case you changed from one brand GPU to another brand GPU, you'll have to uninstall the previous brand's drivers, run a cleaner over it, then install the drivers for the other GPU brand.

Edit: wow aad.. exact zelfde tijd. :)

Of course i did Jord using DDU.

GPU works fine with Knabench and produces valid results.
Its still a AMD (R9 380)

Is OpenCL checked in GPU-Z?
Does OpenCL show in GPU CAPS Viewer? Can you run any of the OpenCL tests on the GPU?

I hate Boinc 7.
Will be my last try.

Just finnished a offline bench using alpha apps.

All results strongly similar and darn fast.
So thats a Boinc issue to me.

What would you expect a 380 to be known as, in words?

In the BOINC AMD identification code - starting from

https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/blob/master/client/gpu_amd.cpp#L241

I see

        case 31:
            gpu_name="AMD Radeon R9 270X (Curacao)";
            break;
        case 32:
            gpu_name="AMD Radeon R9 290 (Hawaii)";
            break;
        case 33:
            gpu_name="AMD Radeon R2/R3 (Skunk)"; // Mullins/new FT3 APU
            break;

but nothing (yet) to identify a 380. Is it possible that nobody's yet told David what the identifying characteristics of a 380 are?

Quite possible.
Its a R9 Tonga chip.
Close to Tahiti that`s why i choosed it.

Most probably your new GPU doesn't have CAL support, so there is no way for Boinc 6.12.34 to detect it,
and Boinc 6.12.34 doesn't do OpenCL detection, you need Boinc 7.x.x for that.

Have a look for other hosts with the same GPU here and at Einstein, and see if they report any CAL support.

That file hasn't been updated for over a year - April 2014.

The most recent GPU names, starting with Bonaire through Hawaii, were supplied by [P3D] crashtest in October 2013: names before that were mostly supplied by Jord.
