Ok, I just know that's pretty simple question, and I just know there has got to be an equally simple answer. I want to keep Seti@Home running when I'm not connected to the internet or off-line. I have a finite amount of time I can be on line with my dial-up connection. It's probably a very simple change to my computer preferences. I'd really appreciate a really simple answer, and if its not too much trouble a step by step solution that looks like this - 1. go to the page marked... 2. scroll down the list of preferences till you see... 3. Tick the box called... Ok...You've done it. Thanks Tom (A returning Seti user) |

You only need to be online to upload workunits and download more. You are not required to be online to crunch, and there's really not much you have to do except increase your cache of workunits in your Computing Preferences. Look at "Store at least X days" and enter an integer of an estimated amount of days you expect to be offline and BOINC will cache that much work for you. BTW - Good to see you coming back! Welcome. |
