But 2300 units on Classic. This looks pretty cool so far. Lots of info and stats. Has anyone joined a team? I'm looking for one.

It also seems to be running quicker. I have a P4 2.8 with 1.7 GB DDR RAM

And a nice bunch of crunchers!

Dude, I was looking around and saw the overall BOINC Seti stats pages... I have to admit, seeing all the ranks and the jumping arrows with the rank movements are AWESOME. That was one of the main reasons I wanted to join a team, to watch my rank go up against team members and overall.

Also, does anyone have a cache like SETI Driver uses? That was always handy.

Ahhhh it seems to have slowed down now, 42% completed but on 2 processes. I noticed this recognized my 1 processor as 2 processors, like other programs do (DDR). So I am running 2 work units. Are there any settings, tweakings or anything yet discovered like with the old SETI? I just want to make sure it's as efficient as possible.

I was just reading about that. Something about it will estimate how many work units you will run in that many days and download multiple units. Kewl. Especially with newer technology, ya never know when they may need to go down awhile.

Hawk,

Welcome to BOINC... there is a wealth of material that you can read ... the site in the best shape is:

http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/index.html, and the one that is the most up to date (http://boinc-doc.net/index.php), but may have link and image issues.

Happy reading ...terms are defined in glossary and subject index, documentation for the BOINC Work Manger (GUI) is in the BOINC Application Owner's Manual and the web site pages are also documented and you navigate through those as you do the actual web site ...

Hi All Seti@Home, (and Other Program), BOINC'sters...,

I'm an 'Ol Newbie!' =) ..., and,
I just Signed up for this, and put '1' Box crunching, to see how it goes! I've been w/SETI Classic for 5.6+ years, and finally thought that is was time to 'Do it..., To it!'

So, I'm glad that your 'all' here to help 'show' this 'Ol Dawg' around!

I started about 1.5 days ago, and have about 23 WU's 'Pending', (and I see that's not working either), but besides myself and two other Crunchers returning their WU's..., about 'How long does it generally take B4 you get your WU's Counted?' Like probably by this Sat..., I'll have approx 50 WU's done.., do you think that they'll be counted by then?

Thanx for any Help that you provide me, and I hope that they will take that Last Seti Classic, (CLI), Snapshot, I'll have about '9K', if they do!

Good to be with eveyone!

The time varies. But usually you will see validation and credit granted in about a week. Then, once the pipeline is "full" you should see some amount of credit each day. This delay, of course, is dependent on the other participants that are doing the same work unit you have processed.

They will. But is not going to happen until after the SETI@Home Classic program is shut down. That time is dependent on the release of the cross-platform GUI ... now in testing ...

Don't forget the other BOINC projects:
CPDN http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc - requires a fairly good machine.
ProteinPredictor http://predictor.scripps.edu - currently not accepting new accounts. Should be re-opening soon.
LHC http://lhcathome.cern.ch - currently not accepting new accounts. Should be re-opening soon.
Einstein http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu - currently not accepting new accounts. Should be re-opening soon.
Pirates http://pirates.vassar.edu - not much work, development only.
