OK... so I stopped new tasks last night, woke up this morning and downloaded a fresh batch and seems to be affixing the "anonymous."

Just had a run of a couple of validation inconclusive myself. I sat here with BOINC Manager showing zero percent progress on a task at 9 minutes run time. Restarted BOINC and the task failed immediately. The ones thereafter failed as well.

Then the next task got stuck at 0.085%
Alarm bells.

Rebooted the system, restarting was extremely slow.
So I did the Windows updates, a check of all hard drives, a check for errors on the C: drive, several reboots.

Just got stuck on my Windows login screen because Windows refused to recognize the Unifying USB controller for my keyboard and mouse. Replaced the batteries of the mouse, as they were 3/4 done. Moved the USB controller to another USB slot and back again, that jarred Windows loose.

Am now running work again on the AMD GPU. Fingers crossed.
