I recently brought on line a computer with an Asus P5AD2 motherboard. I installed 1GB of memory in one slot. It is running in single-channel mode. Would a increase in speed be realized if I install another 1GB of memory to enable dual-channel configuration? Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Probably. It dependes on how the memory is used by the OS and various programs. Most likely you will gain 30% to 50% in memory access speed. If this will make a noticeable difference in crunching is the real question. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

It has a P4 running at 3.4 GHZ. Churning out WU at 10,300 seconds per work unit average. Of course running HT and 2 WU at a time. Memory is DDDR2, PC4200 also by Kingston. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |
