I notice my preferences don't make sense. I login to my account at setiathome.berkeley.edu , go to preferences and try to change them and I can't! When I click in the checked button, it stays checked. When I click on the clear button, it stays clear.

At the bottom of each section is an "Edit preferences" link.

Click on that, which will allow you to change preferences, then at the bottom there will be an "update preferences" button, click that and you should be done.
