But wasn't it about a motorcycle? How the Universe Built Your Car. http://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/how-the-universe-works/tv-schedule/ Beneath the hood of your car lies the history of the Universe. The iron in your chassis, the gold in your stereo and the copper in your electronics all owe their existence to violent cosmic events that took place billions of years ago. It's about suns creating new elements. We are all stardust. |

Just watched the episode about new findings on the moon. No need to build massive earth covered habitats to shield from radiation. Huge caverns formed from lava tubes can be made into self sustaining colonies deep enough beneath the surface to completely shield humans from cosmic and solar radiation. The scientists in the discussion also pointed out, as I have, that launches from the moon out to the rest of the solar system would require far less initial power than launches from the surface of the earth. They are equally sure that there is enough water ice on the moon to provide fuel for power and rocket engines. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |
