I find this strange, I have not got 1 GPU task on this computer since AP splitting started.

Zero devices? I don't think I have changed anything since I last processes (a few) AP's .... scratching head.

Ok, I found it

The 4 core with OpenCl 1.2 on it.

Did you install Raistmer's drop box fix to correct for the OpenCL with using Lunatics?

If not then you should downgrade the driver to 347.88

If you did use Raistmers then we still need to see the start up log

it seems I have some lingering ATI issues I missed, but I KNOW this computer has done some NVIDIS tasks.

yes it is my i5 4 core machine.

Message 1695182 - Posted: 24 Jun 2015, 15:57:43 UTC - in response to Message 1695180.

There seems to be several issues, but the first one I see is this

2015-06-24 9:44:24 AM | SETI@home | [error] State file error: missing application file AP7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV_r2887.exe

It's saying that the app isn't located in the setiathome folder. You may need to redownload (unless you still have the zip file it came from) and re-expand it and move the contents into the setiathome folder.

As far as the ATI, that I don't know. I think you have to use some kind of program to remove all traces of the ATI driver??? (don't quote me on that, I'm not familiar enough to say) Hopefully some of the others will have a good idea on that.

state file error ... what state file?

I have checked to see if each referenced file is there and they are. And recopied all r2887 files over again.

No change, dangit.

From what I can find about state file error, it's looking for the work units??

This is really getting over my head too. Lets see if anyone else has some ideas

Worst case scenario...

You might just need to reinstall all of lunatics and then Raistmer's fixes. I would leave this as a last resort.

Any help from the peanut gallery???

*shrug* I don't know.

When I have an empty cache, mine says

2015-06-23 17:31:29 SETI@home [sched_op_debug] CPU work request: 2592002.59 seconds; 3.00 CPUs

Then I got one task, and it became 2.00 CPUs. Then I got two more tasks, and it became 0.00 CPUs.

And then I got another 110 APs over the next few hours.

I think it is just a mention of how many idle devices you have, rather than total usable.

The state file it is referring to is the client_state.xml. If you look in the upper part of that file you will see all the applications SETI is using listed there. Since you say you copied the AP7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV_r2887.exe files to the setiathome.berkeley.edu folder the other alternative would be the name is different. Make sure the name of the File is Exactly the same as the name in the app_info.xml, copy the Entire file name and paste it into the app_info.xml. The other error suggests you have an entry in app_info.xml for an ATI card that is no longer installed, "app version (of the app_info entry) refers to missing GPU type ATI". Make sure there are No entries in app_info.xml pertaining to an ATI card.

I got 50 Ap's., The MOST I have ever got in one feeding. I have 4 left to crunch. My RAC is about 500 higher from these little gems, so I need MORE.

Why is there a shortage of AP's? is it the source, or is it the Data Base that keeps these gems from going down the pipe.

The AP and MB files get split at the same time (same data source) ... but the AP files fly out much faster, thus they are hard to get your hands on.

Mostly the lack on new datasets from Aerecibo.
And I am frankly not sure why there has been such a drought.

Every dataset split for crunching has both APs and MBs, as I understand it.
The recent work has mostly consisted of looking at past work and reprocessing it given new algorithms and looking at them more closely.

I do not understand why or if data collection at Aerecibio has run into a snag for all this time? I would think that after this long hiatus, we would have tons of filled hard drives with new data we have not even looked at yet, such as was loaded by Matt a couple of days ago.

I mean, I am thinking if data collection had gone on all this time of AP DB reorgs and such, we would have a lot of new datasets to look at now.

I know Aerecibo is not online all the time, but I am at a loss to explain just why we do not seem to have tons of datasets collected since the first of the year to analyze.
And please excuse me if there has been an explanation proffered before this.
I am getting older, and my mind ain't as snappy as it used to be.

Thanks Zalster for sending me a PM of your app_info , the only thing I see different is that you have AP v710 entries.

I don't have that, I checked my other computer and it's not there either (and it got in on the AP feeding frenzy).

Just don't know why my AP GPU tasks stopped when nothing has changed.

I finally said "screw it" and replaced v350.12 with v347.88 and reinstalled Luanatics.

Now I have to wait 7-10 days for any AP splitting GRRRRR to see if it works.

Sorry you had to reinstall. I should have reread your post more clearly. It's not just installing Rasitmer's dropbox fixes and changing the Kernal version, you also have to change the name of the AP.

You left it at v705 It should have read v710 to run with that Kernal_r2887

So you telling it to use 1 ap version with a different Kernal version. :(

Well, lets see now that you reinstalled if it work correctly first before any more changes.

Ah.. but there isn't a v7.05 now in the applications run by Seti

When you first installed this, there probably was an v705, but they since retired that app and push v710 in it's place.

That's why it was looking for it and couldn't find it. Bells going off... Ok, now we know why
