Down with the "symbol of pride", "tradition" and "heritage" of slavery and racism. This is what we can see in Sweden today. "Rebels" cruising up and down the road. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URm7Ze9a56o http://bigmeet.com/eng/ |

Gov. Haley signed the bill signed the bill this afternoon and the flag will come down at 10 tomorrow morning. The relatives of those assassinated in Charlestown will be present. Unfortunately, the House of Representatives are attempting to conflate the flag issue, by amending a bill to fund the Department of the Interior that would protect the Confederate flag in national cemeteries. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/07/09/confederate-flag-congress_n_7762782.html I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Uhmm....the confederate flag shall always fly in my heart.\ I for one am sad to see PC take it down.\ There are some special things that should have forever remained, even if they offend some of the new right. I took it as a symbol of the fight that this country had between right and wrong that was never quite decided, and for those who gave their blood in the defense of something they truly believed was right at the time. Just as some do now in their wrongness. Yes, that flag shall always fly in my heart, because I am a rebel too. Not everything south of the Mason Dixie was right and just. I don't suppose that slavery was the best thing for mankind. But, it was an accepted way of doing business at the time. What really lambasted me was the racing commission down south asking the fans not to display the flag....big fail, as it turns out. Most still did. When you are born and bred to believe in a standard, that flame does not go out until you pass on. And God believe me, some shall pass that standard on to their children, and their children's children. If some shall accept it or not, the true spirit of the south shall never die. And that had nothing at all to do with slavery. It had everything to do with their right and the fact that they were willing to die for, and did, for what they believed was right and just. I live north of the Mason Dixie....but if any of you down there are listening, be it known that I am at this moment crying for your loss. And I know damned well that there are some of you that feel the same way as I do, even if you cannot, or shall not be strong enough to speak it. Amen, my brothers. F political correctness. I live north of the Mason Dixie....but if any of you down there are listening, be it known that I am at this moment crying for your loss. I agree in principal and like many with Southern roots I have Gumbo running in my veins and Zydeco making my feets dance. But the sad fact is the Stars and Bars has become a symbol for those who hate, no matter what it's history. Coupled with the fact that this particular version has not flown over SC since the Civil War, but only since 1961 as a symbol of rebellion against civil rights. MY Rebel Flag, the ORIGINAL Rebel flag will always be.......... "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/11/us/background-check-flaw-let-dylann-roof-buy-gun-fbi-says.html WASHINGTON — The man accused of killing nine people in an historically black South Carolina church last month should not have been able to buy a gun, the F.B.I. said Friday in what was the latest acknowledgment of flaws in the national background check system. Loophole or bureaucratic screw-up? |

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/11/us/background-check-flaw-let-dylann-roof-buy-gun-fbi-says.html Or media bias?!!! http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/07/10/us-usa-shooting-southcarolina-idUSKCN0PK21E20150710 The examiner of suspect Dylann Roof's federal background check did not see a police report in which Roof admitted to drug possession, which would have barred him from buying the weapon, Comey told reporters at a briefing. NY Times or Reuters? Which is the truth and which is fabrication? Which has an editorial policy of gun control laws are a failure that must be upheld? Sorry for replying to my own post, but edit time had expired. |
