...not to mention the wasps around the jam sandwiches....

The year was 1959, Swedish documentary from 2009 on SVT Play.

It is the warm wasp summer, when half of Sweden sits up at three o'clock at night and listening to the boxing match between Ingo and Floyd. Rock-Olga and rocking Same breaks through and My Fair Lady draws large crowds to Oscar. Olle Möller prosecuted for the murder of Ruth Lind from Fjugesta and ATP pushed through in parliament after Ture Königson put down his voice.

I remember that summer well when trying to drink lemonade:)

Hornets are nasty little critters that we don't tend to get here in the UK. But this was a bit worrying not long ago.

Asian Hornets

Here we have them and they are worse than wasps.

I was stung twice on my lip as a child once.
My lip swallowed a lot and I can still remember the pain.

My brother just about has learned his lessons this summer. I do believe it has been about six times now he has been stung by wasps.
