RAC affected too, it appears (obvious reasons). The majority of tasks with any combination of _0 endings or prefaces, go to my Validation Pending bucket Lord knows *when they'll Validate No Errors or Invalids - just a dozen+ Inconclusives and a zillion (OK, 309) Pending Not whining but - {Whine!} |

_0 doesn't contribute to anything. Just means it's a first run of the data. When you start to crunch faster and faster, your validations pending will climb since you are waiting on your wingmen to validate. Just look at how many I have waiting. The only time to be concern is if the pending for validation or inconclusives turn into invalids. Then you have a problem. Until then, just sit tight and wait them out Zalster |

Ya, thanks Z for the patience pill (you *know how I get!) Heck, you also know I'm impatiently *waiting for UPS to get here so I can light this new Candle and Launch! Close to doubling my current resources(50% bump anyway) Hafta take 2 p-pills for awhile I imagine, til I get used to the new Scale/Volume It's a Scale *thing like you said "We look for things, that make us Go" ;) Edit = My Kingdom, for some APs! Edit 2 = Ya, *your Pending bucket is Scary! Serves you right tho - running 4-5up on 3-4 GPUs and 8 Cores---sheesh! |

Recent observations confirm, 90% of _0 go straight to Pending The 10% that don't, are ones with oldest Due Dates ie 6/17 and 6/18. Meaning(to me) - wingmen have already run the _1 and waiting on *me or that's what it looks like anyway. = A glance at my running tasks showed 5ea _0 and 3ea _1 I've gone back to .25config/4up CUDAs; and turned all the cores back on To hedge my volume = Hey PS, my new Case arrives today! Launching new rig tomorrow pm. Do need advice how to Setup a new Host *properly at Boinc. This will be a new Drive and fresh Win7 install + Data only Migration(unless that's wrong thing to do); I'm moving 960 SC to new build and putting 750 Ti back in current Host; and return my Drive to it after Migrating Data (my plan) = Primary concern is Boinc - is it best to be totally Fresh with new Host? Just install Boinc and add Projects (instead of moving Boinc via Migration)? Never done this before (Migration) Using Intel's software |

ALL tasks, irrespective of the "_x" at the end, initially go into the "Pending" box. They sit there until they pass to the validation process, which may take seconds or months, so DO NOT worry about "Pending" tasks. But be aware of any INVALID tasks that pop up, and be more concerned about "ERROR" tasks - these can often point to there being a hardware or software problem with your computer. ("_0" & "_1" are the first pair of tasks to be sent out for a Work Unit, if needed, due to a whole list of reasons, another task is generated by copying the Work Unit again, and the "_x" incremented) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Thanks Bob- Thankfully, haven't seen an Invalid or Error in months Just happened to *notice this "issue" last week when BoincMgr Event log reported 4 completed SETI tasks; then I refreshed my Account page and updated SETI with no *gain, but a reduced RAC; checked Pending and of course it was +4 So, illumination! = Next Nemesis is, adding a new Host in a few days Confident, that'll drive me nutz for awhile! I'm a newb about multiple Hosts Prepare for a Swarm(by comparison) - this is an 8 Core comin on. Maybe when I get TWO figured out, may fire up another (they're just sittin here in my boneyard...may as well Crunch! We'll see.... Thanks again for reply Bob |

For your 2nd host, just use the same account info and it will link to your existing account. BonicTasks is great for monitoring multiple computers. A couple of config files to edit (allowed IP access, and password) on the client, but it's easy. TightVNC is great for controlling multiple computers, you get monitor and keyboard control of a remote host. All from 1 computer. |

Thanks Brent! Was already planning to Boinc Tasks, but TightVNC sounds like a good idea too; other than Networking the two via cables - may not have a spare outlet on PC unless my new cable modem which has switch in back will do it on its own when I patch to it for internet access. |

If it's on your cable modem, you have an internal IP address, just use that. You don't have to actually link the computers together. They already are. |
