We had talked about his failing health in the thread about Ben E. King's passing when I was mistaken about who it was. Unfortunately, B.B King has also now passed away. He was 89. May he rest in peace with the rest of the blues greats that have preceded him to heaven. Rest in Peace, beloved Riley B. King. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I had the great pleasure of seeing him live here in Appleton some years ago. He did not disappoint. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Old Blues men don't die, they just move to a new chord. We are going to miss you B.B. But you have moved to a bigger and better band Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

When all the greats that one enjoyed growing up pass on makes one realise that their turn is approaching. R.I.P. B.B. Also R.I.P. Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate) |

I had the great pleasure of seeing him live here in Appleton some years ago. He played teh Visalia Convention center in teh early 70s, when I was in high school. Loved it. He played our Fox Theater just a couple years ago, but I missed it due to a prior commitment. Thank God we have recordings. Not the same as live performance, but the music, and the memories, live on. Who did the song about Rock-n-Roll Heaven? They've added a few great musicians to that group lately. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

A very nice tribute to BB posted on Fox News by a fellow bluesman, Michael Ingmire. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Unfortunately, BB is not yet resting in peace. Seems some of his heirs are parading around some crap. Must be afraid of what his will might contain.................... BB King allegations.... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I saw that on tonights news. Seems his heirs are saying he was poisoned. The facts shall come out when his last will and testament comes out. I know nothing other than what you do at this point. But....................I shall place a bet that the ones crying wolf are not going to be treated so kindly in his will, and they know so. So they are raising a stink to try to poison the will. Just my suspicions, the truth shall come out at some point. Just conjecture, but I see no other reason for his relatives to claim that his manager poisoned a man already very close to his time with the Lord. Makes no sense other than in the context I am guessing on. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
