I just watched it again and studied Liam's facial expressions....
Made me cry again. Few performers lay their heart on their sleeve in such a fashion.

I thank God that I was born just 'in-between' certain conflicts that might have taken my life. And thank Him each day for what He has given me.

And ask him to bless each and every one that stood in for me.

I know some find it trite of me to comment because I did not serve. I was not called up.
I shared the pain in the only way I could at the time, as did others in the musical community.

Peter, Paul, and Mary made a career out of hating war. As did Pete Seeger, their mentor. And so many others.

And yet, while Pete banged the drum of his hate of war, he could still be uplifting and forward looking.

There has to be a reason for war, and he hoped one day it would come.
And of course, it was written by Dylan.

Only last week, I finished watching the Aussie Series Gallipoli. Much better than the film with Mel Gibson.

No matter what the battle was, WWI should always be remembered, especially for the sheer waste of men.
