Hi Guys, The Lunatics site is down so I thought I would try my luck here. If I install a NVIDA update, will that in any way affect my Lunatics installation settings? Am I required to re-install Lunatics after an NVIDA update? I am not a gamer and typically the updates appear to have a gaming focus so there is the option of not updating at all. Thanks, S. |

Lunatics isn't down. See: Lunatics Optimized Applications etc. base URL is now lunatics.kwsn.info As for the question at hand, since I only have one computer that has an NVidia graphics chip, I can tell you from limited experience that updating the graphics driver has not caused any obtusely observed side-effects. I have read that for hardcore crunchers, specific drivers perform better than others. You may want to check up with those hardcore users for more info. |

You will need to roll back your driver version to one that doesn't have OpenCL 1.2 This last Nvidia Driver upgraded from OpenCl 1.1 This is causing problems with the APs as the current apps use 1.1. Currently there is testing on the Beta site to correct for this update. Once they get it resolved hopefully it will get passed on here and we won't have to worry about 1.2 for a while Zalster |

1) I don't see any NVIDIA errors on your task list but there is a thread: "Problem with Nvidia driver version 350.12" (talks about errors with AstroPulse tasks on this driver) http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77133 2) You use CUDA 3.2 app: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=4098025878 I think faster for GeForce GTX 570 will be CUDA 4.2 app as they recommend: ... but you may also ask in Number Crunching  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |
