God bless, Grant. Sorry to hear the news, please take care of yourself, and don't stress too much.

Perhaps, if you're willing and able, Uli and I could come visit you. If possible, maybe we all could do lunch in your area. (No worries, though, this is just a thought. If your not able, I understand.)

Take care my friend.

That's very sad news to hear Grant. :-(

But my best wishes go out to you.

It's not a very nice morning here (for the 2nd in a row), 1C (feels like -7C) and raining/sleeting, while surrounding areas (just north and south) have. The highway here has also been closed due to snow and black ice.

OTOH, the school vacation is over here so C.W.#1 may leave me alone for a while now (that's why I havn't been around lately).

Beer O'clock should be here in 3.5hrs, but with the weather we're having it just may turn out to be Rum O'clock instead.

Cheers.

Well they've closed all the main roads in the region here so it's definitely Rum O'clock again today instead of Beer O'clock.

3C now, but feels like -6C.

Cheers.

Looks like you might be getting some gail force winds too. I think they mentioned your region on the news. It also officially snowed in Queensland over night. Thats pretty rare.

We've made it to 5C here Monday, but that gale out there is making it feel like -4C. :-O

Skiing would be out of the question Gordon, but ice scatting down the highway could be very possible today. ;-)

But damned if I'm leaving my nice warm surrounds.

Though several mates (5 in fact) have braved the conditions so far today for a drink or 3 (they have to be mad).

Cheers.

When I used to live close to "my" bar, it seemed like it was busier in the winter than the summer.

Message 1701142 - Posted: 13 Jul 2015, 19:05:25 UTC

G'morning everyone, from another very cold start in the highlands.

When I used to live close to "my" bar, it seemed like it was busier in the winter than the summer.

It use to be like that here to Gordon, but since they canned smoking inside and the highway patrol started blitzing this village (both happening at the same time) that's sadly no longer the case. :-(

Anyhow, since Beer (or Rum) O'clock is still 6.5hrs away it must be time for another coffee.

Cheers.

Good morning Wiggo.

Its the same here in bavaria.
10 years ago we had over 600 bars in my town, now maybe 300 and most are empty.
In 5 out of 10 villages you wont even find a bar anymore.

That must be some town even having 300 bars (let alone 600). :-O

Cheers.
