I'm running two computers both with S@H. Each indicates "Work done" which is great. However I can find nowhere (including S@H's home page) where the two are combined.

When checking for "Computers on this account" I only find one. Unfortunately the same computer shows on both computers. More accurately, working on the one named "HP Touchscreen" shows only my "Travel" (ASUS a laptop) computer which is also true on the "Travel" computer.

I just noticed that incompatible computers will not be merged. Is there any work around for this "problem"?

I am no longer as computer literate as I was in the 1980's so complicated answers are likely to do nothing but confuse me, so please use plain English.

Thanks in advance, Robert

Couple things:

I'm running two computers both with S@H. Each indicates "Work done" which is great. However I can find nowhere (including S@H's home page) where the two are combined.

When checking for "Computers on this account" I only find one.

This suggests you used a different email account for the two computers, thus creating two SETI accounts. This user search confirms that there are two "Ro3bert" accounts, each with a single computer attached.

Before you ask: No, the two accounts cannot be merged. You'll need to detach from SETI on one of the computers, and when you re-join, make sure to select the "Use existing account" option and type in your SETI account and password.

More accurately, working on the one named "HP Touchscreen" shows only my "Travel" (ASUS a laptop) computer which is also true on the "Travel" computer.

We cannot see computer names on our end. The details you see in your account are for you only. We can only see computer IDs.

I just noticed that incompatible computers will not be merged. Is there any work around for this "problem"?

I don't think this is part of your problem at all, as your computers are on two separate SETI accounts entirely. You cannot merge computers from separate accounts. Also, you should not merge computer accounts if both computers are going to be used.

I do hope those answers helped a little. Let us know if you need more clarification.

First, you cannot merge computers between accounts. The one you used to post here has no tasks and no credit.

You say you have two more computers that have run tasks (in the past), and want to merge them into one. This may be possible if you log onto SETI using your old account, you will need both the email address and password that goes with, once logged on you need to look under your account details to see if the other computer you want to merge with is listed (if it hasn't been in use for some time you may need to select the "show all computers" option). Now you can try and merge them, but if as I suspect you have "retired them due to old age" it is highly probable that they will not be mergeable.

As I said at the top of my post, if they are not on the same account then you can't merge them. It gets a bit tricky then, but basically what you have to do is move this computer to one of you existing accounts and use that account. And even trickier is to move the current account to a false email address, then move your active account to your current email address....
