Guys,

After many years of service my GPU kicked in and I purchased a new one. With all other things remaining unchanged, my user average has dived from around 12,000 to 8,000.

I would appreciate some help in understanding why. Is my new GPU a less of a performer than my old one? Or, is it due to the tasks I am being sent recently?

My tasks appear unchanged each core has a task as well as the GPU and nothing sinister is appearing in the log.

I have provided the old and new configurations below.

Any help would be a great help.

Thanks.

Is my new GPU a less of a performer than my old one?

In short, yes

Sorry to say the GTX 560 is better than the GT 740. While it might have more memory, its not really using all of that while crunching.

Not sure if you can run any of the optimized apps on that 740, but you can try. You might get 2 work units at a time to run but I won't try any more than that. 2 is the limit for the GTX 750s.

That might help increase your stats.

Thanks Zalster.

Bad news but news I needed to hear nonetheless.

A bit of comfort - recently there has been a sag in the credits awarded, so you might be suffering a "double whammy".
(My RAC has dropped from ~96,000 to below 90,000 in the last couple o weeks, with no changes to hardware or software...)

Thanks Bob, well, I look forward to that.

I went on eBay and picked up a ASUS GeForce 570 GTX for A$100 (Australian). I'll give the GT 740 to my dad.

P.S. Pluto is potato fed a tad too much ammonium nitrate
