the best solution is to turn off the computers and not entertain idiots who are little men on big power trips this action is not what SETI is all about and that moderators and others who do not play the game and are not conscionable being many smart ares from the UK and States entertain shagging persons over with Credits and the like what concerns me is that the program outsources the situation to unconscionable smart asses that have nothing better to to do than screw people over inn my team there are two characters that are gaining credit ?????? whilst everyone else is loosing credit some thing is not quite right i just turned on another computer to see if what is going on is just me but no the results state different stop the games and make this fair other wise i post and seek persons to Turn off the computers until SETI gets its act together and terminates all the smart asses who are just moderators of unconscionable status my average credit is going backwards and still going backwards with other computers turned on i have over 20 CPU operating just on my home account and persons with only 8 CPU overtaking me , something is not quite right SETI fix it |

Kym Fishlock, this is not the thread for that, but you're only doing Multibeam work and with the change from V6 to the V7 app autocorrelation was added which made work take longer and give less credit. To improve your score you need to enable both Astropulse and GPU work, llanowar (2nd in your team)) has the same E5-1680 v2 rig with dual FirePro D500's as yours though that person does do Astropulse work and uses the GPU's as well which makes a big difference. If I was you I'd start another thread here asking other Mac users how to tune your rigs for better performance and maybe even changing over to the "anonymous platform" optimisations. Doing that will likely get you very close to #1 position in your team. ;-) Cheers. |

i have over 20 CPU operating just on my home account and persons with only 8 CPU overtaking me , something is not quite right SETI Currently you have exactly 20 CPU's working on SETI. As this is only your second post and you have never complained before, it might just be better to ASK, why people in you team are doing better than you rather than throw insults around The answer as Wiggo pointed out is enabling Astropulse and GPU work, this will boost your RAC. In some of my machines I no longer use the CPU at all just GPU's So you see even when you insult the people at SETI we are still nice enough to answer and try to help you. As Wiggo also said this is not the tread to ask or complain about your specif problem, please start a thread and I will move the posts there. |

This is the thread to bring all your Seti woes. With some respect and understanding, one can get everything off his or her chest here. Mind this=>For Panic attacks, we still have the Panic thread: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=76430#1628071 rOZZ Music Pictures |

Late to this topic.. There are several people using the Mac Pro's with dual ATI cards. There is a build of heat from what I recall reading about. The solution was to run only 1 of the graphic cards. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=420229 This user also has the Mac Pro and got the graphic cards to process. You can look at their posts and use those to tract back to where they discussed setting up the machine. When you get to their profile go to the upper right side where it says message boards and go thru there posting until you find it or you could send them a private message and ask them how they set up their computer. Since I don't run a Mac Pro, that's my only 2 cents.. Zalster |

Late to this topic.. That decision was personal because AP units are hard to come by. If I turned off MB work units, the system would be fine but I might go through periods of time where there was no work. Setting up one GPU allowed me to keep something flowing all the time at the cost of not earning the most credit. This would also allow me to add WCG if I wanted because all their work units are CPU. Should you need it, the link is here. Note: If you get both GPU's working you will leave me in the dust and may have one of the highest ranking systems here. Last time I looked I was ranked about 240 from the top but that 500 can put out over twice what my 300 can do, With both running you could come close to an RAC of 100,000!!!! |
