I installed the boinc application onto two servers running Server 2012 to do some load test benchmarking (plus help seti :) the servers are domain joined but not domain controllers and have one or two roles each.

I had no problems doing a direct install, and logging onto my account. The software downloaded some tasks and showed the performance bar rising.

Today when I check my list of computers on my account, I see the servers listed, but not sending anything back to seti (all numbers are 0.00). I did not do any changes to the default config.

Am I missing something?

The number only go up once a workunit is completed and validated. How long have you waited since you installed BOINC?

Nothing will be sent back to the S@H servers until a task is completed - that is progress on that task has reached 100% At this point the results file will be uploaded from your client machine to the S@H servers; sometime later your machine will report the task, which will now enter the queue for validation. Validation takes anything from a few seconds to a few months depending on how well your wingman (or men) perform. Once validated you will get credit for the work done.

Yesterday, I installed boinc on the servers at the same time I did my significantly lower powered desktop...however the desktop has gone through several tasks, uploaded them and gotten more.

Your desktops are more powerful than your servers, and one of them is using a graphics card to crunch data.

This server is using a Core 2-class Xeon CPU and is dual core only.

This host is using Server 2012 OS, but is a standard 3rd generation quad-core Core i5.

Your desktop, on the other hand is using a 3rd generation quad-core Core i7 with HyperThreading and a Radeon GPU. This will be your highest RAC-earning machine.

This host might be a duplicate of the second server machine, but it is running Windows 7 and using the integrated Intel GPU to crunch as well.

But if you suspect an upload issue, why not check the BOINC Manager Event Log on those machines? Surely it will tell you if there's an upload problem using evidence rather than expecting the servers to behave as the desktops.

A couple of things check
- That BOINCmanager and BOINC are allowed to communicate to the internet through your servers' firewalls. You may need to check firewall logs to see what ports they are attempting to use.

- Also what are the cache settings on these two - I've seen some very silly defaults recently - for a start I would set the cache to something like 3 day cache plus an extra 0.1 day - crudely the second number is related to the interval between BOINC "forced" connections.
