Hi, I plan to upgrade one of my PC's CPU. I have Googled & Searched the Forum. Are there any steps I need to take with regards to BOINC Manager, or any WU's that are already in progress.? Will I need to use the "Benchmark" option to do any re-calibration.? Thanks - Dave - First Reg: Sept 28th 2003 - Re-Started: Dec 6th 2014 + SETI@Home Classic WU's = 6729 |

Unless you plan to change out from an Intel to an AMD processor, or from an AMD to an Intel processor, or from a 32bit to a 64bit processor, it shouldn't matter much. These changes give your host a new hostID, so you may want to run your cache down prior to changing over, just to be safe. BOINC will automatically do a benchmark when it detects changes like this. |

It's a change from one Intel to another Intel, just changing from a 84Watt to 45Watt device. I only have small mini ITX PC's, and 1 is getting very warm.
