Ok,

Probably should be posted in Beta but since that Message board is more for testing questions, I thought I would ask it here

How can you tell when an AP was created.

What I want to know is (as pointed out in another thread) Are these new APs at beta or are they old APs that they are just rehashing to test the Apps and already know the results.

Or are these new APs and the results are new as well?

Here is a copy of a work unit, if someone could explain it to me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

That WU is Beta WU 6780465: it was created 20 Dec 2014, 8:05:38 UTC, and nobody has completed it yet.

Open any list of tasks at the Beta project - your account, or for any computer (doesn't have to be one of your own computers).

There's a Task Name search box above the listing. Because it wants a Task name, rather than a WU name, you have to include the replication number as well - every WU has both a _0 and a _1 replication. From the task details, you can click back to the original WU.

That date is when the data was recorded at Arecibo. Must be from one of the new batch of disks received at the lab on 5 December - New Data from AO

At Beta, there is always a _2 as well.

Follow the link. Only two are showing so far - and one has completed since I posted, overflow after less than 4 minutes.

Best to stick to _0 and _1 if you don't have the actual task name available - that way the recipe works here at Main too.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

It makes much more sense now.

So it seems that these APs are new then and not rehashed old APs.

Good to know.

Age of the tapes is not really an issue, if HQ wanted to, there are tons of "tapes" before July 2008 that have not been processed by the AP app.

It was about July 2008 that AP was released into the wild here. It is a much younger app than MB. Josh's Astropulse FAQ was posted 31st July 2008.
