From my understanding:

Any credit earned with the old team stays with that team.

From the time you sign up with the new team any credit you earn will go to the new team.

Your total credit will not be affected of course.

Bernie is correct. To elaborate a little more, the credit you generate when you're with a team is separate from your credit you generate for yourself. The credit you generated while with a team, stays with that team when you leave, but still does not effect your personal credit.

So if you quit and join another team, you will cease generating credit for the old team (which they keep) and you begin generating credit for the new team.
