Hi Folks,
As a precaution against da gremlins I have a 2nd copy of my OS on a different drive to my main OS:-)
This morning since copy 2 is a slimmed down one, none of the addons etc I decided to try running setiperformance on that copy.
Within a few seconds Norton had removed some of the files since apparently only a few people use it and its got a bad reputation.. Go figure..
Some of the AV mob need to take a real hard look at some of the things their
products do methinks.

[edit]
Funny thing is it doesn't do that on my main OS, or I'd be having some real problems running anon.

Regards,
Cliff,

You might want to exclude boinc folders from scanning.

Hi Mike,
Apparently there's no need to do that, BOINC has been running ok, for days with NIS also running.

Why it goes amok on my 2nd OS I have no idea, but it doesn't on my main OS.
[edit]
Just checked, on my main OS I have Norton Community Watch disabled, guess I ran into problems with it in the past sometime. On my 2nd OS its a vanilla install of NIS:-/
