Could somebody tell me how you put an image in your message. I have tried dragging and dropping. Doesn't work. I clicked on Img* but I'm not sure what that is saying. Do I have to have my own website with a url in order to post an image?[/img]

Yes. The image needs to be hosted somewhere accessible by everyone on the Internet. You will need somewhere to host images, such as Imgur, Photobucket, Imageshack, just to name a few. They will give you a full link to post between the [ img] and [/img] tags.
