Installed a new gpu amd r9 280x. No tasks being downloaded. Why?

--edit
It keeps loading me up with cpu tasks and then says I'm at my limit. If this keeps up I can't get any gpu tasks.

Should I abort a bunch of tasks or reset seti?

NO, don't abort any tasks. Recent Server changes cause the CPU tasks to be filled First, after the CPU is full the GPU tasks start downloading. Try giving it a Hint. Go to the Preferences and Unselect Use CPU, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project

It looks like you are receiving GPU tasks now, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7413477
It will send CPU tasks until you reach the Limit, then it will send GPU task. Aborting CPU tasks will just cause it to send More CPU tasks until you reach your daily limit and reduce your Limit due to Errors.

Look in the BOINC event log and see what it's got to say. At the beginning it should say it's detected the cpu and GPU and driver version etc. later on there should be a message about requesting work, which hopefully will say it's asking for GPU work. It would help if you could post the startup messages about the cpu and GPU and the requesting work messages.

To get to the BOINC event log you can click on advanced (on the menu bar in BOINC manager) -> Event log

No - you have now 'AstroPulse v7 Anonymous platform (ATI GPU)' tasks

Thanks I have tasks but I am underutilized using only 25 to 31% of capacity. Do I need to set up multiple tasks in app_config. I forget how I used to write that. Does anyone have a copy for I guess 3 tasks (.33 something). Thank you. In the mean time I'll try and figure it out myself. Or remember it. :-)

Don't you have app_config.xml used on another computer?

Cancel that. I just changed cpu to 87.5 from 100% and my utilization went up to 77%. I guess I'll wait and see what happens. Thanks for reading.

Why don't you try Upping the Settings on a Single Task first and see how that goes. You Need at least ONE free CPU Core!
Set the ap_cmdline to;
-unroll 18 -oclFFT_plan 256 16 256 -ffa_block 4096 -ffa_block_fetch 2048

OK, if you later need it:

<app_config>

      </gpu_versions>
   </app>

      <gpu_versions>
         <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
         <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
      </gpu_versions>
   </app>

Let it run for a few hours and see how it does. You did restart the task right? Select All the GPU tasks, Suspend them, count to 10, then Resume them. You have to restart the task every time you change the settings.

Easier to do the same:
'Snooze GPU'
Wait 5-10 seconds
un- 'Snooze GPU'

First task doesn't look good with those 30 pulses.

Where did you get that driver? Driver version: 1311.2 (VM) Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1311.2)
Try downloading Catalyst 14.9 and installing that, http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

Second task looks Much Better, I'd still Update the driver...

I used it right out of the box and forgot to update over internet. Will do now.
The second wu runs much faster than the first.

First of all unroll 18 is default for 280x with r_2721.

If you change drivers make sure you also delete cached bin files in the data folder.

Another 30 Pulses. Doesn't look good.
What are your suggestions for repeated 30 Pulses?

Shouldn't the App Rename the New Bin files to the New Driver?
