Hi all, I have 3 gtx 770's crunching and just added lunatics. Are there any required or strongly recommended settings that should be tweaked? I have each GPU working on two tasks each. Thanks for any guidance. |

There are Readme's in the Docs subfolder in the project directory. Claggy |

Hmmm... I think I'm in over my head on this one. |

Have you used lunatics before? Do you have a app_config.xml? 2 ways to go about it. First, you could modify the app_info.xml to increase the number of work units. The second would be to use a app_config to increase the number of work units per card. I'm not sure how many you can run on the 770 but I would think it should be able to run 3 work units per card. After that would be using the command line options to fine tune those cards. This last step I would leave until you are sure your system will handle the 3 work units per GPU. |

The command line options are what's a bit intimidating. First time with lunatics, I did figure out the xml though. Not sure if I should mess with the clo. |

Well like I said, I would start with just increasing the number of work units for now on each graphic cards. After a day or so when you know that it isn't producing errors then you could look at doing the command line. You can start conservatively. The GTX 750 thread has several command lines listed, I would start with the one they list for the 750 to start with. Once you are comfortable with that you can modify it to increase the productivity. Mine is there as well but it's setup for my system, but should work on yours as well. If you have questions, let us know Happy Crunching... Zalster |

Almost forgot to add, you might want to make this a pure GPU cruncher. I noticed you are still doing CPU work at the same time. You don't want to starve your GPUs of CPU support, so might consider not doing any CPU work. I found that the CPU work units didn't really add much to my RAC and actually slowed down work on the GPUs. Also, do you where to put the command line in the app_info.xml? Ok, Good Luck Zalster |

Would you think a single core per wu is enough? And just stop cpu in the manager? |

Your intel is better than my AMD chip but I use 0.8 CPU per Astropulse. You could use whatever Lunatics has as a value. If you don't remember, you could probably use 0.3 I've found I need more CPU per AP for my AMDs. The reason I do this is I need a little more CPU to support my GPUs and if I go higher then I get crashes as there isn't any free CPU for the Operating System. (I probably should use 0.7 but I seem to be able to get away with 0.8 since all this computer does is crunch) For Multibeams you can use the 0.04 CPU that Lunatics gives. You can deselect "Use CPU" in "Your account" page. Go to Seti@home Preferences. Find the one you have that computer listed under and edit it. Just deselect "Use CPU" and save. You can do that from the Manager but then those work units will still be there on your computer. Next time the computer updates it will see the change in your web preferences. It will finish whatever CPU work units it has and then won't ask for any more. Don't go above 3 work units per GPU. It seems to be too much for these cards. Zalster Edit. Are you using something to monitor the temps on your cards? I use Precision X and have my max at 70C for 100% fan speed and have Temp as priority. When it hits 75C, it decreases the speed of the GPU to keep that temp |

I just grabbed it today. GPU's are running around 75-80. I will set it up in the am. |
