Does the new Lunatics application increase the temp in the CPU's? If the app does the same amount of work in a shorter period of time, then it is working harder. Do you get warmer when you work harder? |

I have not seen a change in CPU temps on my machines that run AP only. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I'm wondering what machine you are talking about , wouldn't be the AMD with a FX chip ? I have also lost PSU's with my FX chip . If it is , this is what i have done so far to stop the PSU's from dieing I have slowed it from 4 gig to 3 gighz I have also slowed north bridge and HT to 2000 and 2200 to be able to get at least 7 of 8 cores to work without blowing a PSU i do 3 GPU units and 4 CPU If i try 2 GPU and 6 CPU it over heats with standard heat sink and the power levels starts to go crazy at 60 c The PSU i have running it now is slowly dieing Solution : new mobo get 990 or 890 chipset currently i have 970 4+1 power design need 8+2 , Liquid cooling and even bigger than 850 watt PSU i'm thinking 1000-1200 or buy freaking Intel like i should have in the first place |

Glenn you don't need to go to that large wattage PSU, just buy a top quality brand/model of the same rating (or a bit lower) and make sure that it only has a single 12V rail. Cheers. |

Thanks wiggo i was wondering about that only pulls 270 watt max at wall , no monitor ! and only 1 GPU |

I was running AP6 on my laptop for month and the max core temp was 76 degrees. 2 days ago I installed the newest lunatics and started crunching AP7 and on the first day it already hit 78 degrees. |

NX-01 it's a Lappy so they get hot all it means is you need to clean it . Lunatics is not the problem however your machine is probbly working faster and so is generating a bit more heat . People with AMD fx chips have been reporting a different problem you just need to clean the dust bunny's out of the laptop |

Glenn, I clean my lappy on a regular basis. And I cleaned it not long before I hit those 78 degrees. But I guess it was just a coincidence because since then I haven't seen 78 again. |
