Same here.
I'd support a medical research project, if i knew the results would be accessble by most people that needed it.
Unfortunately these days only the rich can afford medical attention.

I suppose the only good thing I can say about UD is that it introduced me to the idea of distributed computing back in 2002. I think I got involved when I heard about the anthrax research from a BBC website.
They dropped the anthrax program a few months later, and I searched for a worthy successor... SETI won out I guess!

I run climate as well just to see if the Greenland glaciers will melt
