Hi, I'm wondering if BOINC actually bothers to process the deadline date in WU's I'd have thought that it would do a scan of WU in a cache and deternine running order by deadline, but seemingly this is not the case. Regards, Cliff, Been there, Done that, Still no damm T shirt! |

Normally the running sequence is First In, First Out The only time this is not the case is when there is a task that BOINC believes will not finish in time to be reported by it deadline then it is run at "High Priority". Normally the running sequence is First In, First Out A task will run High Priority if BOINC believes it may not finish if run in the standard priority. It is actually First In First Out within a project and Round Robin modified by resource fraction between projects. Resource fraction for a project = resource share for project / sum (all resource fractions for projects with work on the computer) in this case. There are other cases where the resource fraction is calculated based on the sum of all resource fractions for projects attached to the computer. BOINC WIKI |
