I have been struggling to digest that since reading it in a newspaper. I nearly handed myself in to an optometrist with the words "HELP! There's something wrong with my eyes..." {@},{@}

Whether it's true or not I had tears of laughter running down my face when I read about it :)

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was 1 of those shows that I could never get into, though my missus loved it, so I wouldn't have made that connection Bernie.

Real or not, I agree with the physician interviewed in that clip. Anyone who would go to such extremes for attention may have some serious undiagnosed psychiatric issues. Frankly I find it difficult to believe that this young woman actually found a plastic surgeon willing to perform this operation, and if she did, that physician's license should come up for some serious review!!!

As a person who has worked for 25 years in a hospital setting I understand that patient confidentiality is highly protected... but I also know that people slip up. Can you imagine how many hospital registration people, orderlies, surgical nurses, surgical techs, recovery room nurses, housekeeping staff members etc would have been involved in this young woman's care? This is such an atypical surgery that surely at least one hospital employee would have "slipped" and told a spouse or trusted friend something general like "a woman had a third boob put in at our hospital today". That spouse or friend would have told two people, who would have told two people, who would have told two people. With this kind of gossip-mill, eventually the hospital where the surgery was performed would be known and the surgeon would at be guessed. Since everything is dipped in mystery and shrouded in intrigue around this surgery, my guess is that we are looking at a clever, elaborate internet hoax.

I suspect getting that type of surgery in the United States would be very hard, other countries don't ask as many questions and it could be done out of the country. On the other hand, it appears to be nothing but a hoax.
