OK...I've been a SETI computer for a whole lot of hours, in the past. I shut it down due to interface issues, which I could not resolve. So I get an email asking me to start again. Fine. I try. I CANNOT find any way to get the thing going. I re-installed BOINC (I was with SETI prior to BOINC, and it worked far better back then.) Now I cannot find anywhere to actually make the sucker work!

Someone tell me how to turn it on.

It would appear that your computer has downloaded both CPU and GPU work units for your computer. Some were downloaded prior to your posting. Seti by default is set to start only after the computer has been inactive for some time. I would first check the setting to see when for when Seti is supposed to start. Under the pulldown of "Boinc Manager" click on the preferences. At the bottom of the page you will see "do work when idle for X minutes" If you want it to always run then change it to "0". This will cause Seti to run all the time despite your being on the computer. By default, seti will not start if you are actively using the computer. Otherwise, change it to however long you want it to wait before starting. If you already did that it's still not running, check the event log to make sure there isn't an error being reported. Change the view from the simple interface to the advance view. On the pull down menu under view, click advance. This will change the interface that you see. Once you have changed it, look for the advance pull down and click on Event log. When Boinc starts up, it goes thru a (for lack of a better word) checklist to verify your system and requirements. If there is an error, it sometimes shows up in the report. Usually we ask for the first 30 lines or so after a fresh start up to look for any errors. Copy and paste those lines here so we can check them. Hopefully that will give us an idea of what the problem is. Good luck

@Zalster, simple view has the event log as well, no need to tell people to go to advanced view. Just tell them to press CTRL + ALT + E simultaneously and it'll open the event log on simple view.

I believe that the default is to use the CPU but not the GPU if you are active at the computer.
