Here's another dumb question from clueless me. Currently my computer is running S@H Version 7.2.42 and Asteroids, sharing the CPU at 50-50. But Asteroids is going like Gangbusters while S@H is languishing in the slow lane. I know there's a difference in projects and processing, but I would like to change the 50-50 ratio to maybe 70-30 so that S@H gets more time and finish WUs faster. I can't find where to do that. The Resources Share heading in BOINC Manager doesn't seem to do anything. Any help?

Thanks.

BOINC uses a debt tracking system to maintain the resource share for each project over. So it may run one project exclusively for some time then switch to another. Over the long term it maintains the ratio, but short term it may seem like it is crazy.
If you have 2 projects on a 2 core processor system and want each project to use 1 core all the time. BOINC will not do that by default. You can use an app_config.xml to limit the number of tasks any project is allowed to run at one time. Then so long as both projects have work the system would always run 1 task form each project. However if one project ran out of work the limits would still keep the other project running 1 task instead of switching to 2.

You could also try the resource share in your account page and look at the Seti@home prfeferrances. When I was doing two Boinc projects I set seti at 900 and the other at 100. You can try various ratios to find the sweet spot that you like. IE such as maybe 800 to 200. I just run Seti@home unless they go down and no work is availible for a few days. I just set NNT on the other prjects unless I need to use them. You could also do that, Set NNT for that other project run a few days of Seti then set NNT run the cache down. And let your other project run for a bit. But that is a pain.

I started this regime of S@H when I got this new computer. It replaced an old Dell which was REALLY slow. The average S@H work done with this much faster machine is only 1036, or 12% of the total. Meanwhile, Asteroids, which I added later, has an average work done of 7585, or 88% of the total.

I think it would be good to even out this disparity. Or not??

As I run intel and Nvidia on I7 computers with HT on I have no idea what a AMD 2 core machine with a GPU can do.
Im afraid that you have to decide what project you want to run the most.

That other project gives 5-15 times the credit vs SETI@home.
Run time CPU time Credit Application
4,779.35 4,718.69 480.00 Period Search Application v102.10 (sse2)
15,413.62 15,172.47 480.00 Period Search Application v102.10 (sse2)
14,713.01 41.04 109.07 SETI@home v7 v7.03 (opencl_ati_cat132)

So for an equal amount of processing time the other project will have a much higher RAC. If you want to have an even RAC between the two then you would have to give more time to SETI@home. Which provides an uninflated credit value.
