For the past few months I've been in discussions with a car builder about a very special project - this project is based on a "production" car (http://www.bowlermotorsport.com/portfolio/bowler-exr-s/), but a with a bit of a twist - out with the 5 litre V8 gas-guzzler and in with a 4litre V8 diesel dumper... But won't that reduce the power, well, it might but there are some twists and turns around, so the headline power is still to be "in excess of" 400bhp (OK, that's over 25% down over the 520 of the road V*), but the torque will be leaning on 900ftlb (and that's about 20% up).... This will not happen unless the engine team can get the life up, and the transmission team can stop making spaghetti drive shafts.......
