Buzz Aldrin will be on the U.S.S. Hornet all day today. :-) A friend of mine and I are going to head over there and get his autograph.

I got an afternoon off school once to attend a talk he gave... didn't get an autograph though. Have fun! :)

I will be taking a small camera with me. Maybe I can get a picture with him, too. :-)

I'll post when I get back.

There were so many people there today. They had a line that went from the top of the ship, (not the flight deck; but, one deck lower), winding down through the corridors and into the lower decks, then into a room where Buzz was sitting at a table signing his book. We couldn't take pictures, we couldn't have anything signed; except his book. I managed to buy a copy of his book on the ship for $28+, and the entrance fee to the ship was $30. I spent an hour in the line getting to Buzz to sign the book; which only took seconds. I managed to say thank you to him and then I was whisked away and out of the room to keep the line moving.

I wish I could have spoken more with him; but, am glad I got the book signed. Unfortunately, my eyes have gotten to the point that small print is difficult to read; so, I most likely will buy an e-copy from Amazon for my Kindle. The important thing is that I have a permanent keepsake of a historical figure. I will endeavor to keep this book in mint condition as this is probably one of the last events that he will do. I now own a piece of history. :-)

Well done. If you don't intend to read it at all, cover it in Clingfilm (make sure that no air gets inside), it'll help keep it in mint condition without the paper yellowing.
