I've never heard of this phenomenon. In reading the associated names for it, I don't know why the noble pickle has been chosen as it's mascot. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Here in California it's in November, every year, it's called an election. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Looks like the silly season all the time in a certain thread then Yep, seeing as much of the frivolous political posturing and hyperbole tends to appear in the silly season itself... In case anyone gets worried this is NOT a return to Politics. 42 hours later... If 142 Israelis and 154 Arabs are fighting over 69 acres of land for 5 days, who won? To get the answer, you multiply 14215469 by 5, turn the calculator upside down. In the Europe thread, how silly when there is an Israel/Palestine thread. |

Is this the sort of thing you mean? :) Not that I think it's silly at all - as my twin and I regularly did the same with shongolola's... though we never put flags on their backs... |

Hi Anniet. You mean African millipedes? Yep, when there isn't much real news about the media turn to frivolous stories to earn a crust. Yep :) posted a picture of one in the bug thread awhile ago... if they decide to get a wiggle on, they're MUCH faster than snails :) |

Silly! :) Expensive lapse. I have a cat that likes to run off with my watch when I'm in the bath and then bury it in the litter tray. Minx! :/ |

I am happy to report that here in Canada we have no "Silly Season". The heavy price we pay up here for the shear joy of living here in our "Happy ever after Land" is, we gave up silly. |

Another definition of silly season: the ever-lengthening stretch of time when TV remote controls' mute buttons get the most use. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Oh no!!! They will be making fireguards next ..... Seriously... having gone out in public with five maltesers pasted to my rear end I could have told them it would hang together long enough to make idiots out of themselves. Ooh anniet... that's a bit harsh don't you think? :( erm... what I meant to say was... that... um... I could have saved them some time :) Mind you, I have been sucked into scientific studies of my own on occasion which haven't really added anything useful to... well... the world. Just things like how many drops of wine can you get out of freshly emptied bottles of red and white. 14 and 11 I think were the consistent results (or was it 13 and 9? *hard-think frown* (or 11 and 9?) but I can't be sure and I can't remember which way round either because I had been party to the prior emptying of the bottles... ...and then there was my scientific study into the optimum dunking time for a variety of biscuits... but I don't think I was psychologically cut out for that one... too many palpitations :) |

The current season is putting serious strain on the mute button on my TV remote. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |
