Hints:

1) I have visited no new countries.
2) I visited 2 countries I have visited before.
3) I added a peninsula that is not attached to the country that owns the territory.
4) I added an Island in an Island chain, neither of which I have visited before (the capital of the region). This island and island chain are not a part of the first country mentioned.
5) I added a continent and an island nearly attached to that continent. This area belongs to the second of the two countries mentioned.
6) I walked from the second country mentioned this time to the first country mentioned this time.
7) It is not possible to walk between the main areas of the two countries involved.

Spain, Gibraltar, and (I forget what's across from Gibraltar)?

Yes, the peninsula was Gibraltar.

Now for the Continent and the two Islands (or in one case the city that takes the entire Island + some on the mainland.

Since the Country has been correctly identified as Spain, this should limit options.

Ceuta, Spain, Africa?

That is one of the two islands. Anyone want to try for the other Island?

It is a bit of a flight from Spain (3+ hours from Barcelona, it took us nearly six because we had to be diverted due to difficulty aboard).

Melilla? But it's only an island in the sense of being detached from Spain proper, right?
