So since this conflict began, the US has no satellite/s tasked solely to that area? |

So since this conflict began, the US has no satellite/s tasked solely to that area? Observation satellites operate in low orbit at about the same height, 400 miles, as the ISS. It is comms satellites that operate in geostationary orbit and that is 23,000 miles (36,000 km) away. |

So since this conflict began, the US has no satellite/s tasked solely to that area? I must say, I'm a little puzzled. I heard an early report saying the US had tracked the missile from the minute it was fired until it hit the plane - which was why they knew it was no ordinary aircraft accident. Must've been speculation at the time - or burial since. :/ |

I heard the same report, yet no mention of the missile that hit the military jet? Is US intelligence really that inadequate or are they hiding something? |

So since this conflict began, the US has no satellite/s tasked solely to that area? The Pentagon has constant satellite survalance. That's how we know of every shot fired. I heard the same report, yet no mention of the missile that hit the military jet?No to one, yes to two. Do you think US would tell what we know and can do? They don't even tell me and I'm a fine American. BTW the bodies are still laying where they fell. |

An Indiana University student from Amsterdam was among those killed when Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed in Ukraine, the school said in a statement. |

I just saw a picture on CNN of a buk launcher heading back to Russia with one rocket missing. Oh yes we are going to get a fair and honest investigation. US will leave it with you'z guy'z.Upon further review there were two rockets missing from the launchers heading back to Russia. |

Why is Obama and the world looking for any reason to get US involved in this. Obama mentioned the lone passenger that can even be remotely linked to the US. He mentioned Schansman, an anchor baby, as an American. He was borne in the US to Dutch parents but lived his entire life in Holland. OK not an anchor baby as he and his mother went back home. His father is still here working for a European bank. He can only be listed once and is listed as Dutch as that who issued his passport. |

That is a pretty clear sign that he does not want the US to play much of a role here. My guess is that he is leaving that to the Dutch and Malaysians, given that we got the most casualties and the plane is from Malaysia. |

My guess is that he is leaving that to the Dutch and Malaysians, given that we got the most casualties and the plane is from Malaysia. Two guys one FBI and one NTSB are on site and were meet with hostility and only given access to a small portion of the wreckage that is spread out over five miles. This isn't going to be easy and the US will not force the issue on the ground. Obama and Putin don't want a confrontation. The US has only one real concern in the world and that is Russia. Not to mention Obama's lack of backbone and the difficulties involved in the US meting out any significant response to Russia.Putin and Russia are not Noriega and Panama. What should US do, this is not our fight. I feel happy and safe, its up to those people to take care of their own problems. |

Why is Obama and the world looking for any reason to get US involved in this. That is nothing, I'm talking about flag draped coffin involvement. We are behind you all the way cheering you on. |

Putin and Russia are not Noriega and Panama. Funny that you mention this:) My girlfrends father worked as a mining consultant together with Noriega in the 90s. She also worked with Pasqaule a minister in Panama. He had a big appetite. Three chickens as a snack! He had three sisters who fed him! |

And it seems that monitors that have arrived on the site are meeting with a bit of armed hostility.... International monitors investigating the Malaysia Airlines crash in eastern Ukraine said Friday the team was not given full access to the site and was greeted with hostility by armed men guarding the scene. Looks to me like Russia is becoming a rogue state. Very dangerous. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

Looks to me like Russia is becoming a rogue state. Very dangerous. What are those most in danger going to do? So far they love their comfort more than their freedom. The EU won't even sanction Putin for fear he will cut off their gas. Oh poor babies. I hope they don't expect US to give them more that a pat on the back and a go get'em; we are right behind you. |
